BREAKING: The Trump administration is using a grant program from the 1980s to force cities around the US to funnel their ongoing collection of Flock, Axon, and other ALPR data into large federal surveillance centers that fall under the White House’s jurisdiction, 404 Media has learned

Warning folks! Peaceful sabotage is justified in this case. Who the f**k in America wants a surveillance state -- other than pro-Russian MAGA?

So, let's map this out … "Customer" (county, city, state) uses grant $$ to buy ALPRs The ALPRs are installed, capture data (+ AI use?) The ALPR vendor connects to the fed surveillance pipeline. ALPR vendors claim Customer owns the captured data. How can customer control/recapture shared data?

The program raises significant privacy and transparency concerns; as cities begin to place restrictions on how their Flock data can be used, it represents an end-around for federal law enforcement to access data that it might not normally be able to, and to do so without any obvious oversight body.

The White House has taken steps to ensure local ALPR systems are fed into the “High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area” (HIDTA) program. For example: cities in Georgia can't operate ALPR systems without signing a “memorandum of understanding” (MOU) in which they promise to send their data to a HIDTA.

Flock and Axon did not respond to a request for comment. The DEA said that it did not have jurisdiction over HIDTA and refused to comment. CBP and the White House’s Office of National Drug Control Policy did not respond to a request for comment.

A lot of democrats gave up a little freedom for (largely imaginary) security from these systems and are now on track to lose both. If only Ben "Fuckboi" Franklin was some kind of national figure, his (apocryphal) warning might then have been heard.

Please note that the Old Confederacy Red states are willingly complying with this surveillance state mentality. Soon, there will be two nations within our borders - one free and one comprised of totalitarian fiefdoms. Even if the federal government returns to "normalcy".

Again, thanks for nothing Roberts "Balls and Strikes Only" Court. You've resurrected all the worst of the Old Confederacy with your stripping of voting rights, women's rights and the horrifyingly wrong-headed Citizen's United decision. Oh, and granting immunity to an obviously rogue president. UGH.

Yep, this is the data their ai is sorting in data centers... between cameras, phones & wifi signal mapping, every moment of everyone's life is being recorded & observed by our extortionist federal government.

Whenever you watch one of those massive drug busts on YouTube where a cop pulls over a rental sprinter under the pretext of following too closely or something ridiculous this is how. They are not lucky. They are not super intuitive. They’ve known it was coming for hours or days. Fusion.
