BREAKING: President Trump cancelled the Pentagon's planned livestream of a firing squad execution after nationwide backlash. Everyone who spoke out and pressured the administration to reverse course made a difference. But enough is enough — it's time to end the death penalty entirely.

Agreed. His callous disregard for the crimes he committed should not be taken lightly, but giving him a "soft" sentence in prison for the rest of his life should give him plenty of time to reconsider his stupidity. Rest in jail, you scumbag.

I don’t think it had anything to do with the administration worrying how barbaric and brutal a live execution would be. I think they just belatedly realized how pathetic it would make the US military look to shoot a man in a wheelchair.

Why not? It's no more depraved than thousands of other things this administration has done. The only reasons Trump pulled the plug on this time was because 1) It was originally Hegseth's idea, not Trump's, and 2) Trump still has some lingering instinct for how this would look on TV.

Yeah... I guess I'm weird that I stopped believing anything this regime says after the first "great healthcare plan" was promised 10 years ago. Or Greenland Or Cuba Or "a short war" Or any of the dozens of other trial balloons. Crazy me.

And let’s realize that the reason that he did that is because as usual, he hadn’t done any homework and he didn’t know that Hasan is in a wheelchair and I guess he said to himself golly, that’s gonna look pretty barbaric of us if we live stream the firing squad execution of a man in a wheelchair…
