I keep seeing "all authors use AI, the real issue is they're being forced to be sneaky about it" headlines. Full stop No. This is a lie peddled for normalization. It's schoolyard-level pressure tactics "C'mon, all the cool kids are already doing it. We won't tell. It's fine. We're on your side."

Just use a search engine instead? I know Google isn't as good as it used to be but, still, don't use AI

Google sends me straight to AI now with search results 😐 I share your skepticism. I'm simply experimenting since it's the new thing and I can't get left behind. Particularly, in the business world where there's a huge push for AI adoption. I've specifically been playing stout with Claude.
