Fine, I did it myself: As of 1/21 evening, 14 Democratice Members of Congress support abolishing ICE, including @joaquincastrotx.bsky.social, who used the term "disband" on @mehdirhasan.bsky.social's show. Four more have supported abolishing ICE in the past. docs.google.com/spreadsheets...

Can someone point me to any databases that track the Senators and Representatives that support abolishing ICE and/or no new funding to ICE?

Please feel free to send me any press releases, interviews, survery, etc. that I have missed. If I have free time, I will also fill out which Members of Congress support *defunding* ICE (very tricky technicality, many bills flying around!) and which 75 "expressed gratitude" to ICE last year.

1/22 MORNING UPDATE: Good methodology suggestion from @rikleen.bsky.social. I created a separate asterisked category for Members of Congress who have called to "dismantle" or "disband" ICE (e.g. @repnikema.bsky.social), or have shown past support but not renewed it. docs.google.com/spreadsheets...

Methodology recommendation: Don't include anyone pre-Nov 2020 (except to acknowledge their retreat on the issue). Before Biden got elected, even Gillibrand had said Abolish ICE. Everyone stopped immediately after election day. Between then and 1/7/26, I believe AOC is the only one to say it.

1/23 PM UPDATE: 11 Members of Congress have called for "abolishing" ICE. Five more Members of Congress have called for "dismantling" or "disbanding" ICE; four other Members of Congress have called for abolishing ICE in 2018 but have not yet renewed their commitment in 2026.

Ro Khanna is the eighth Democratic member of Congress to call for dismantling ICE while stopping short of using the exact words, "Abolish ICE" docs.google.com/spreadsheets... bsky.app/profile/rokh...

5. Impeach Noem and Bondi. 6. End the Kavanaugh stops with racial profiling and end the militarization of ICE. 7. Codify a use of force standard so courts can enforce the law against rogue ICE agents. 8. Tear down and replace ICE with an agency that has oversight.

1/28 UPDATE: Sen. Ed Markey of Massachusetts appears to be the first Senator to endorse abolishing ICE. (Bernie Sanders supported abolishing ICE in 2018 but has not renewed his commitment.) I have created a new Senate section in my tracker: docs.google.com/spreadsheets... bsky.app/profile/edma...

Right now, Democrats have the power to defund and abolish ICE. We should do it. This is about right and wrong—and the murder we are seeing on the streets is just plain wrong. Anyone who supports funding DHS and ICE is supporting the murder of Americans. We can stop this.

A Super Bowl PSA: In California, our immigrant neighbors (and all Bad Bunny fans) are welcome. Armed, untrained federal agents harassing, kidnapping, and hurting innocent people are not. We need ICE out of California, we need accountability, and we need to abolish ICE.
