I'll go you one further. My biggest adult disappointment was coming to the realization that the world is unfair, everything is broken, the overwhelming majority of Earthlings are stupid or insane, the Earth is another planet's hell, and that it will remain so after I'm dead.

It's right up there with my parents' philosophy, if you do your best, everyone will notice. Uh... No. Someone else usually tries to take credit and all too often, they get away at it.
