As much as that sucks, it does suggest that this is the kind of place where you don't want to work – they'd probably lean hard on you to be using AI to "increase your productivity."
At least they're still hiring. Allegedly. Visual design is something AI's making accessible to adjacent positions, like product management teams. PMs can whip open Claude Design and easily iterate designs to hand off to engineering teams -- for however long they need engineering teams, anyway.
My daughter has been looking for a new job for a year. She’s highly qualified but for every job, there are 100 applicants. She’s hiring a position at her current job, just over minimum wage, 45 applicants.
Because I'm in Comp Sci, all of the recommendations I get are for agentic and generative AI training and it sucks because it's either that or entry level positions that require 7 years of experience.
I’m mostly looking for graphic design roles and Every other job description asks for proficiency in generative AI in some capacity it’s just so exhausting being in a creative field that is already undervalued
What’s the bottleneck in this job search right now: finding viable roles, getting interviews, or reaching offers? That split points to a different next move.
I’ve been looking for years so I can get out of my current job and it feels like a Psy-Op because a majority of my “you’d be a great fit!” recommendations are literally L*ckhe*d M*rtin 🙃🙃🙃🙃
I started a spreadsheet and I’m also nearly at 400 (374 to be exact). I wanted to keep track because I felt like I was applying to a lot but never hearing anything, and it turns out most job applications are just like that
They're probably using an AI agent to automatically screen application emails and while you may have the right skills and be suitable for the role, no human being has ever seen your CV. The only skill you're lacking is the "fool the AI agent" one.
It may also be a ghost listing — the post it so they can tell their existing workers “look, we’re looking to add people, so there will be more hands soon” but actually they’re never going to fill it, just reject everyone
It's all a scam. LinkedIn dropped me as soon as a said a Political thing. I couldn't get my resume or friends back. The funny thing is I never used LinkedIn until I was about to retire...
