Let tonight be a lesson to all of us: Make sure you have established your own, and are aware of your loved ones', advance directives. Do you want to be awakened from your slumber when It Happens? Or do you want to find out when you awake naturally and unlock your phone? Let your loved ones know.

I remember snoozing before waking up in Brooklyn on 9/11 when a friend called out of state & said "turn on the tv, any channel" & felt my heart sink before switching on ny1. The big beautiful announcement would be the opposite of that.
