There's nuance here about "how do we use platforms owned by the fascists". You *have to understand the political purpose of the platforms* in order to use them to subvert authoritarians. For the most part, Americans simply do not. Centrists (including DNC consultants) do not. Major media does not.

Key lessons from Brazil Amplify our people. Ignore the opposition. Use the tools owned by fascists to defeat the fascists? Meet the people where they are. May need to reconsider my staunch position of boycotting Meta for the reason. Thoughts?

There's a difference between using fash-adjacent platforms to organize, and reaching fash-curious people on those platforms. If doing stuff through Elon's platform would actually lead to better outcomes I could be convinced to hold my nose. But I won't try to persuade anyone over there.

I mean, it depends. I think there are normies who are probably, still, there for like... sports scores. There may be some way to reach them amidst the noise. Is that worth the effort vs. the other ways to reach them? I would have to see some pretty convincing data.

I agree. I'm simply publicly committing to being persuadable to do pragmatic things and not purely ideological here, inspired by Brazil.

As noted on here recently there's a huge contingent of ppl #onthere for int'l news who're not attuned (or justifiably jaded) re: the fascism of tech/western politics... i think the way to reach them is push 🦋 to be less US/UK/CA centric Brazil realtime 🦋 was on pt last nite so I feel there's hope
