We are absolutely living in a dictatorship. “ICE” is just a cloak for a police state. Undocumented immigrants are not eligible for Medicaid benefits, but their children, who are American citizens, are eligible. This isn’t about immigration. It is about hate, intimidation, & control.

This has nothing to do with HIPAA.

Really makes all the effort around misuse of a social security number seem a bit twee. And also prescient.

The venn diagram of people ICE needs to talk to and Medicaid beneficiaries is two non touching circles. ICE also has access to the fiction section of your local library, which might prove more useful.

This abuse was inevitable given our lax privacy laws in the United States. Norms are not laws, and the right to privacy needs to be added to the US Constitution like it is already in some states. Using facial recognition without a warrant, merging databases... none of this is ok in a free society.

Not federal, they may have state funded (if available) and emergency use (emergency dialysis, birth -- defray costs to hospitals). Children born in US may qualify for medicaid, the info include all household members -- parents, siblings, anyone in the household and income (employer).

Those working in ICE knowing their power is being wielded illegally are shameful and not doing right by Americans….

Congressional Dems need to launch a no-knock systemwide ICE detention audit during resource. Multiple members at each site, wearing body cameras, with photo drones, demand access, census, interviews. Livestream everything. Blitz the news and run ads in all red districts. Hit them before the buildup.

It was reported before that the plan is to integrate all fed databases with our info. RFK Jr said he wants to build a national health database using what they have & private app info. I guess they want the US to be like China. Already us facial recognition at protests too.
