How much do you wanna bet that this is the start of a long-term strategy to weaken public support for IA so they'll support legislation to seize control of the IA's servers and make archived pages with "inconvenient" truths disappear from the historical record?

hearing this is absolute bs if anything, AI scraping is ruining the archive for everyone else because of the burden it puts on its infrastructure

Even if it is, who cares? (I don't believe it is for a minute) Many of the media orgs are falling over themselves to license their archives. This will clearly be faster and not have the inconvenience of having to pay out $billions when AI orgs inevitably get caught ripping off peoples' IP.
