Long Island is the home of a disproportionate number of cops, fireman, & construction workers, all of which tend to be MAGAts. There's also a tremendous number of very affluent people on the island, which is another demographic that leans heavily towards Trump because they want in on the grifting.

Why is it even close in NY State for Governor? Mayor Karen Bass, of the finer City of Los Angeles, doesn't bother to say, "vote for Xavier Becarra for Governor of California", because he will be and all know it, as she completes with another Democrat for mayor, because no Republican came in second?

The Blakeman lawn signs I have seen (I've seen maybe three) about 90 minutes north of NYC, if I remember correctly have a white background and maybe blue lettering. Doesn't seem to me to be MAGA red or something else strongly associated with Trump.

Taxing on 2nd homes happens here in theUK too. Tourists also pay a small sum to the council when they visit, via their hotel stay. I've even read that the council tax is doubled too on 2nd homes. Mayor Mamdani is 💯 spot on 2 do that as most are empty mostly 👌👍👊🙌👏💪🥰😇😍
