The pretext is that Isreal wants us to. Not joking on this one. Lindsay Graham even stated in a recent speech that Isreal is the one calling the shots on future wars. The other pretext is the Iran Nuclear deal which the US violated and pulled out of under Trump and didn't reinstate under Biden.

Oddly enough, I haven't really seen anything beyond the same kinda baseline rhetoric we have been seeing for the past year or so. No real escalation, just troop movements. Just like with the Venezuela strike. Or the previous Iran strike Probably because he isn't getting congressional approval first
