Bitwarden is great. For general use , you can also use proton pass. There is also a local bitwarden server that you can spin up( forgot the name) to sync up the passwords, 100% free and self hosted

I switched from 1Password to Bitwarden a year or two back, and haven't looked back. It's autofill was actually more reliable at the time (not sure if 1Password improved it since)

I tried 1Password for about a week. It just wanted to control everything, like my browser etc. I felt like its bad enough that Google owns everyone who isn't already owned by Apple now... Is there a freeware solution for password security? Something easy?

I know jack shit about Keeper, but I know when I looked for a new one after dropping LastPass I picked up Bitwarden, as it was the one that security people were suggesting the most.

Bitwarden is sadly walking back their openness, but last time I checked they were still the best by my standards

Long story short, their senior leadership seems to be cool with financially supporting the projects of people who have openly called for ethnic cleansing. And given the opportunity to reverse course, they have dug their heels in.
