maybe I’m an idiot but it really feels like “another world” that is claimed to be “possible” is already here waiting for us if enough people step into it or at least spend enough of their spare time there doing what needs doing and refusing to do what is currently being done

The problem is that people still need to eat and pay bills, so they can't afford to dedicate much of their time to volunteer or donation-funded work.
