The Bank of Canada decided to pay interest to banks on their settlement balances because the banks complained they held non interest bearing assets. That interest payment was created out of thin air. Try getting the B of C to create money to help struggling families or the homeless.

But "god's struth" Avi, the fact that banks create money from thin air should tell you we don't need to go and get money from rich people. Tax them YES! to destroy their political power. But use money creation NOW to make Canadian's lives better. @ndp.ca
