If you hit a dog, it's animal abuse. If you hit your spouse, it's spousal abuse. If you hit an old person, it's elder abuse. If you hit your child, it's just called parenting. That needs to end Children are not property and have the right not to be beaten.

I wish I could say CPS cares but alas, the county I last called fussed at me all “corporal punishment isn’t a crime ma’am” like if they’re willing to hit their kid at the doctors office what do you think they do at home NOT in front of mandated reporters?
