Casual reminder that the myth of “pulling yourself up by your bootstraps” is a cruel hoax designed to convince poor people from all walks of life that the injustices they face are a result of their own actions, rather than an oppressive system rigged against them.

Especially since successful rich immigrants like Murdoch, Musk, Thiel, Rubio etc all pull up the ladder behind them.

They should have picked rich parents!

Yeah, I thought choosing impoverished parents at game start would make it more of a challenge, I wasn't expecting all the massive penalties to keeping my well-being score up. Next play through I am for sure picking the wealthy parents option!

Personally I'm waiting for Earth 2.0 to be released, where humanity has figured out how to take care of everyone. It sounds much more fun!
