@dholms.at I wonder - since this revolves around spaces, would something like "mutuals" work - where someone can only see someone else's data when both sides have each other in their space? (think facebook friends - the friendship is only valid when accepted)

yes it's very flexible! the example app at bulletin.my only allows mutuals to post on your board, but it also could easily allow only mutuals to see your board
