Reminds me of Peru's situation where they were exporting all their quinoa cause it's a "power food" and its citizens didn't have any for themselves. 😭

Seems like the California side of Tahoe’s power company has had 15+ years to find alternatives (they built some wind/solar) or hook into PG&E. they kept getting extensions from Nevada, but now that Nevada’s power demand is going up, they really need to make those moves or end up paying a higher rate

+1 to this. In general America has lagged on electricity generation for so many decades now because there was never sufficient demand to justify the investment. That's why we stopped our nuclear program. But now bc of AI we have the demand! There'll be short-term pains but this is great long run!!
