It is really depressing having conversations with people in denial about the impact AI is having on their jobs. Like I realize it sucks and it's scary but pretending it's not happening is not going to work for very long.

The specific way it manifested today was somebody claiming it was still a good idea to ask syntactical questions in an engineering interview. The days of manually written code are gone.

I don't agree with your premise, and you can call me what you like about that, but syntax questions were (or should have been) dead 20 years ago so it's kind of moot.

I have no interest in calling you names, but I'm glad we can agree on something.
