'007 Legends' released on this day in 2012. Activision's final title with the James Bond license. Intended to serve as a celebration of the film franchise's 50th anniversary - reinterpreting past movies as missions - the game was slammed as a half-hearted "Call of Duty clone."

In truth, I think the game is mostly fine: It's neat to revisit those classic films as Daniel Craig Bond, even if some of the choices are questionable. ('Die Another Day?' Really?) The biggest criticism should be the fact that its PC release has completely broken mouse input.

My take's still that the game was awfully paced and very boring to play. But it's not that much worse than Goldeneye Reloaded was and that game received a lot of praise for whatever reason.

I had a phase where I played a lot of Bond games back to back a couple of years ago and GoldenEye Reloaded was the one I enjoyed the most.
