Bats have long been associated with the spirit of Halloween, and no bat is more on theme than vibrant orange-and-black painted wooly bats. 🦇🎃 Yet the truly scary thing about them is how quickly their populations are declining — primarily due to being killed so their bodies can be used for decor. 🧵

That´s totally sick. They´re wild animals, not decorations. I do not celebrate #Halloween at all here in Germany, here only kids costume and go for #TrickAndTreat-ing, and youngsters costume and go to parties, I´m almost 56 yet and disabled. I only have a pumpkin & a black cat figurine here. 👍👍👍

Whether they're sold pinned in display cases or crammed into tiny fake coffins, painted woolly bats are collected from the wild to be killed, stuffed, and hung on walls thousands of miles from their homes. These animals are much more magnificent alive and thriving for generations to come. 🧵

I already signed this petition from one of my newsletters a while ago, but eventually I posted it on X then, where I only post occasionally now due to their AI threats to delete my X account, after more than 13 years, now. 👍👍👍 #EndWildlifeTrafficking #WildAnimalsNoDecorations #NoPets
