He obviously really cares about being perceived as “classy,” if only when it comes to decor, and you’d think he’d have picked up something by sheer osmosis, but no. He still has the aesthetic sensibility of Powerball Winner Homer Simpson.

Actually, it's an age-old problem with the nouveau riche. It usually dissipates within a generation or two, with exposure to higher tastes and education. Thing is, Trumps don't care about taste or education, only money. Very gauche.
