also, my complicated love affair with javascript continues apace. as a language it's fine I guess but the ecosystem is unlike any technology I've used before. you can do anything in javascript and there are probably at least two people that beat you to the idea cool time to be building for the web

it feels pretty bad to be on the internet these days but working on my website has been reminding me what I love about this stupid thing in the first place. you can do anything you want and just put it out there for anyone for free. or for money if that's your thing, it's easy to do that too

Super here for this thread, as a kid who didn't really feel much control in life, the web felt like a place where I could build & share with others, a world of my own creation. Many dumb idiots will tell you AI will make this obsolete, no it just accelerates things, engineering just got a nail gun.

Rebooting my website right now and as long as you don't let the robots tell you what looks good or what you think makes magic in your application and really try to understand the craft (anyone can own a nail gun, only carpenter uses them well), so that you are using it to accelerate your learning.
