Perhaps BYD is partly responsible for Tesla's sales decline in China. But Tesla is flailing in Europe and North America, too, and it's not because of BYD. It's because Elon Musk is a fucking Nazi, and most people hate Nazis.

IMO…If Tesla has any chance to survive they’re going to have to force him out and I don’t know if that is even enough. The brand is toxic except to the MAGA deplorables but I don’t see them running out to buy a Tesla. Sorry, but I’m not going to root for China either.

No, rise of BYD is not to blame. Chief reason for Tesla’s fall is poor, unfocused management at the top. Any competent board of directors will be lobbying / demanding for the removal of the CEO at this point.

too expensive.. & the competition learned.. when elon-the-fool was dancing in Shanghai at tesla's factory he was actually giving the keys to his house to CHN.. note he never filed patents in spacex knowing CHN.. so, let the nazi suffer the consequences.. & U$A fail again in car-making supremacy...

Be funny if BYD end up buying Tesla for peanuts once muskrat completes its destruction, although probably nothing in the tech stack they would want anyway these days.

Driving in BYD vehicles, I can say my experiences was very positive. The cars feel well built, comfortable being a passenger and are very well appointed. If I was a buyer in China, I wouldn’t even look at Tesla given the extra price.

It's called competition. For a time, BYD and Tesla were just competitors in the e-vehicle industry. One is a domestic product that undoubtedly costs less than the expensive foreign product owned by a megalomaniac.

Tesla is done everywhere. In the U.S. and Europe, Musk has attacked his core customers: upper middle class, educated, environmentally-conscious liberals and moderates. A once aspirational brand has become a pariah. Horrible marketing decision by Musk. He's trashing Telsa by becoming a MAGA cultist.

Only $TSLA fanboys believed that Tesla would dominate the Chinese market for any longer than it takes for domestic manufacturers to gain scale. Chinese EV companies also have more money to develop new models since their more focused and less drug-addled managements don't want to die on Mars.
