In sixth grade I walked out of my Catholic school where the nun was breaking rulers over children’s hands & enrolled myself in my neighborhood public school. My friends envied me but my parents supported me❤️‍🩹I was lucky & have spent my life fighting for women’s rights; dignity&respect for all 🙏💓😻

Same. My mom would also ALWAYS tell me "You have to speak up if something isn't right, regardless of how hard or how many people will dislike you for speaking up. That's why you have a voice" So I ALWAYS speak up. I've been called difficult and a burden because I use my voice.

That's me - kicked out of Sunday school age 7 for "Asking too many questions & not accepting what I was told". When it came to Jesus feeding 5,000 with 2 fish & 1 loaf (something like that) I said it was impossible because my Mum couldn't even feed 4 of us with that - my Dad & brother ate a lot.
