@brittanyellich.com I just watched your bsky.app/profile/brit... #Atmosphereconf talk. I heard from a few people that you were doing some interesting stuff that I might be interested in, and they were right! I'd love to see if BookHive could add book clubs based on @opensocial.community

My talk from #Atmosphereconf is available to watch! There has been so much energy around groups/communities on ATProto and I'm SO excited to see how things transform in this space!! youtu.be/GVOywon3X-Q?...

I've been thinking about book clubs in two ways, given that you are apart of one, I wonder how well it resonates with you: 1. Book clubs with friends, like a traditional book club where a group can nominate books & share their thoughts as they read & can keep track of each other's progress

2. Book clubs based on books, where the book is the topic, and people can share their experience of a book asynchronously. It makes reading a book more of a shared experience where you can read a chapter and see what others thought at that point. It is centered on a book, so anyone can join along

Oooh I love this idea. I've tried to make this happen as an "async book club" as part of my book club but I don't think we've ever quite gotten to the point where there were enough other people reading the same book to test it out 😆 so having it be open to anyone reading the book would be super cool

at biblio.bond we have librarians curate lists and then validate a reader's self-attestation with a rewarding stamp lets people (and worms) make lists of different standards peer-defined attestation can mean many different things so keeping the curation aspect person-oriented is valuable
