Other than the Agon Light and Neo6502, what other retro but modern machines are there out there? I guess there is the tank but it is really expensive so not able to try that.

I'd argue the Harlequin, the Minstrel range by @tynemouthsoftware.co.uk, the RC2014, the Cerberus by TheByteAttic and the MicroBeast and NanoBeast by @lockfarm.bsky.social. All using contemporary electronics.

Unfortunately the Sam coupe is unobtainable but the zx next does have a SAM core available I think?

I've mentioned previously about my being interested in using Quazar's RC2014 bus soundcards with a MicroBeast (or maybe Nanobeast). I've now finally taken the plunge with buying the SAA card after seeing his vid. I'll be using it first with my Sam first to get more audio channels while I save up!
