Yesterday I built a Go web app that served an embedded static next.js site for the UI. It was glorious. Today I tried to run the nextjs build again and got a hundred npm errors. Computers were a mistake.

I've found htmx feels harder than it should be, probably because of the change in mental model and my years of regular web dev.

I’ve tried my hardest to make htmx work, even giving alpinejs a shot with it, but it just isnt composable. Folks always talk about colocation-ofa-behaviors with htmx, but htmx forces you to do the exact opposite once you need to make a template reusable with its query selecting and retargets.
