Since we're approaching the end of 2025 I thought I would lay out plans for next year for FamiWiki, specifically some goals I want to achieve with the site. So here are 10 things I want to see improved to some degree.🧵

1. We need more active contributors. It's something that has always been an issue since the site first opened and while dozens of users have contributed, my contributions (over 21k edits) still make up around 2/3 of the entire site. So far advertising the site to people has seen limited success.

2. Cleaning up the dozens of blank pages such as this. A bulk of FamiWiki is still stubby pages with files not uploaded to the site yet. I have been slowly chipping away at this myself but getting help from other contributors would certainly speed things up. Speaking of which...

4. Properly sort out the categories other than hardware and software. Outside of the two mentioned, the rest of the categories has seen very little attention on FamiWiki. I did focus a little bit on peripherals but not much elsewhere. These categories also need to have their scope re-evaluated.

5. Super Famicom needs a boost in focus. It's something that I've unintentionally neglected to maintain on FamiWiki since personally my focus is on the original Famicom. Thankfully a few users have been putting in some work to rectify this but we have a long way to go...

6. Possibly apply for membership or be affiliated to NIWA. This is something that we have attempted multiple times but were ultimately rejected for reasons l won't get into publicly. I do want to at least try again but if we get rejected again I am just going to look elsewhere.
