Measure the MCP part. I checked /context once: nine servers were putting 41k tokens of schemas into every session. Cutting the rare ones halved it. Same test as your AGENTS.md rule: a tool never called is pure schema cost. Agreed on /context over skills, they live in git and diff like code.
