The apparatus of collective meaning-making is now literally fixed capital. There’s a lot of abstract, subjective “firsts” that genAI is claiming, but I think the most significant one that there’s a single point of control over how we determine what anything means.

The shit is not going anywhere. It’s going to be subsumed and integrated into everything a computer can be squeezed into. There will be no such thing as rejecting AI. Participating in society will be contingent on it. The choice will be either primitivism or allowing yourself to be shaped
