Financial statement today reminded me HOW GREAT IT IS when folks request that their libraries acquire books. 😍 Seriously, if you want a totally free-to-you way to help an author, submit a request with your local library. Those sales help us so much, in whatever format.

Oh, that's good to know! I used to feel guilty requesting books be purchased by libraries instead of buying them myself due to lack of funds, but I am glad to hear it's helpful! I always hope it will help more people discover books they love.

I 😍 our library!! The issue here in Denmark is with eBooks. The library has to pay a fee every time it is borrowed. Physical books are more expensive, but only have a one time fee for libraries. They expect a lifetime of 37 borrows pr physical book. eBooks can only be borrowed 3 times for that price

I do this all the time with my local library as do many others. Just went and requested a book coming out later this month and there are more than 20 people ahead of me in the queue. This is actually helpful for the library to know so that multiple copies can be ordered.

I used to order adult fiction for my library. It helped when patrons would request specific books or authors. After all, we order books for YOU, so you should have some input. Not every request can be granted due to budget and collection requirements, but most librarians will try.

yes! (former librarian here). librarians want to have what people want in their collections! there should be a link on your library’s website to suggest a title for purchase. At mine they will even place a hold on it for you when it arrives so you’re first in line to get it. Libraries rule.

And if your local archives is actively obtaining local authors can also ensure some books will last a long time too, as a librarian if the books are circulating the will be removed after a time but archives are forever.

Over 300 reposts means I feel justified in tagging on the self-promo: Hey, if you and/or your local library might like some historical fantasy set in ancient Rome featuring cutthroat politics, elemental magic, and kickass women, check out the Aven Cycle! linktr.ee/cassrmorris

Libraries rule! We love to purchase books for our patrons and are happy to look for books all across the country through the Interlibrary Loan system. 💙📚 #booksky #librarysky

My dad started requesting titles after he retired and had time to read something besides the newspaper. I am carrying on the tradition. Love seeing the message come through from the library that they are purchasing the book! 📚

Definitely. I like all my books to get into libraries and my new book 'Murder in the Climate Assembly' promotes libraries of things. I'm launching once I have 50 followers, hopefully in Feb, so check out and support/share if interested 😀. www.kickstarter.com/projects/dab...

What I do is just donate books everywhere possible. I've had thousands of books. Giveaway now, happy to. Donate many to libraries. Librarians will know when they see them. The gift of literacy is supreme in any language,

I didn't know that! I do this all the time and jokingly refer to it as "pestering the library." I feel like Andy Dufresne in The Shawshank Redemption. "Now I'm going to write two letters a week."
