In related curiousity, what fall/winter traditions do you keep? Mine and Bestie's household don't have kids, and it's been a BAD year, so we want to intentionally make some holiday cheer. We're looking for activities of all energy levels so we can force some found family joy

Spent a few hours this morning helping my friend's mom prep Christmas baking. It was nice to be involved in a family tradition where the success of the venture didn't hinge on if I could successfully emotionally regulate everyone else My bar is very low, but it makes me very grateful

Going for a drive to see the leaves changing and houses with cool decorations! Hitting some farmers markets for fresh apple cider! Having a movie night with seasonal snacks and spooky movies like Nightmare Before Xmas or Hocus Pocus!

Last year, we did a road trip to Wolfville where we saw a local production of Rocky Horror and checked out the local scarecrow festival (and as many used bookshops as we could find)

Oh you have THE BEST options. We plan on doing a drive to see the lights before Halloween but I'm clearly missing out on a lot of good fall activities

we go to a pumpkin patch / pet sanctuary every year we also love a little halloween get together with soup, charcuterie and movies and in Germany a lot of people make raclette for Christmas and / or New Years which is also a nice and cozy group activity

You reminded me that I have a grill raclette thing in my cupboard that I've never gotten to use! I need to pull that out in the next two months and make a night of it!
