Working on a new SwiftUI app. Becoming a habit but I’m actually shipping. This one will be my first freemium app with a subscription. Scratching my own itch first and then to flesh it out to something more. Taking lots of inspiration from Apple’s own apps but noticing so much that isn’t consistent!

Building out your own utility first keeps you honest about what actually works. Adding subscriptions to an app you already rely on daily gives a much firmer starting point.

Probably StoreKit but I need to look at RevenueCat again as it’s been a long time since I compared the two!

StoreKit 2 is solid if you're iOS-only and want to keep it native. RevenueCat is worth it for the dashboard and paywall A/B testing — saves building that yourself. we went native StoreKit for Basil and wrote the reporting ourselves, which was fine but took time.
