One of the odd AI tells - not 100% but... they don't allow you to remap controls. It just isn't something AI does in vibe coding I guess because most of that happens in changing project settings... so I keep seeing it again and again.

I feel like this is mostly because you'd have to think "players may want to remap controls" and then add and test that functionality and every step in that process is antithetical to making things with AI.

The whole reason people use AI is because they don't want to stop and think, they just want to go go go. The problem is you end up missing the 90% of making something that actually makes it *good*.

IMO, *good* input remapping is a legitimately extremely difficult problem with multiple layers of questions you have to answer and handle. My own input library for Godot has like 4 layers of abstraction between "button press" and "gameplay action".

And this isn't to say every game that doesn't allow this is AI - but it is a consistent thing I see in slop coded games.

I got up from gamepad-only press previews at expos if they didn't support "inverted look," and I'm sure reps maligned me behind my back. But that stuff matters, as it proves out what human touch is/isn't in a project. +1 to you noticing similar fallout as a result of coding by the mean.
