God Packs were done with Theros, and they absolutely ruined the draft experience every time one popped up. At best, they made the games ridiculously slanted. At worst, they incentivized a player to quit mid-draft and walk away with a bunch of valuable cards, which ruined the entire draft.

There is a 2.4% chance of pulling at least one God pack in every 8-person draft, and 3.5% for every 12-person draft. 7% chance for 12-person sealed. That might not sound like much but it adds up quickly for people who draft the set multiple times.

Apparently the new policy is that if one is pulled the player keeps it and the store replaces it with another pack.

Yeah that's fair. Up to your locals basically. It also kind of ruins at-home drafts too. You di generally have like 6 boosters to spare and swap it out with but it is clunky and they keep shrinking box sizes so who knows there.

If you are drafting at your house AND you have exactly 10 people and no spare boosters AND you are all miserable mfs angry because your friend* pulled a god pack then it is an issue. In any other scenario it isn't lmao *If you are playing at home with randos that's a whole different problem

I don't think people are angry that a friend pulled cards. I usually bankroll the whole draft so they're all my cards afterward. So the guy who opened them might be a little upset that the one God pack they'll probably see in their life was mine. I'm more concerned about the affect on gameplay.
