President Trump's $1.776 billion settlement with the IRS is one of the single most corrupt acts in American history. They moved fast to avoid the scrutiny of the judicial process, and very likely violated the Constitution. This is an outrage.

And still.. no one will stop him. Those who fail to put an end to his cataclysmic reign are deserving of anything and everything he does to screw them. #NoSympathy

The judge here was on the right track. But being careful, and insulating against appeals. The courts need to be far more nimble. It might not have stopped this, but it might have set them back on their heels. Can we go on offense? Even just for a little bit?

Stop calling it a settlement. Serve the people correctly. Trump withdrew his case. Then he created a slushfund. No judge signed off. What the DOJ has done on Trump's behalf is illegal.

I’d put my Congresspersons on blast to do something about this, but I hit the trifecta here in the Lowcountry of SC. Lindsey Lickspittle Graham Tim MIA Scott Nancy Freakin’ Mace 🤬

Trump’s newly approved slush fund…Unchecked, unbridled corruption. This is one reason why children are hungry, too many veterans are unhoused & why people are dying from lack of basic medical care. Trump and his cabinet of cruel & greedy clowns just don’t give a shit. Neither does congress. #Trump

EAT IT! AND WEEP! THAT'S ALL WE CAN DO. TAKE IT IN, MULL IT OVER, AND SUFFER. LET THE ENTIRE COUNTRY STARVE OR NOT WORK BECAUSE THEY CANNOT AFFORD TO EAT OR GET GAS TO GO TO WORK. PERFECT SENSE FOR THE REPUBS.

The judge has said there is no settlement on record, so stop referring to it as such. It's just a daylight robbery by a criminal organization who attacked -- and continues to attack -- our republic.

It's not a settlement, god damn it! There can't be a settlement because the lawsuit was dismissed before a notice of settlement was ever filed with the court. Calling it a "settlement" gives it more legitimacy than it deserves. This is straight-up looting without the fig leaf of litigation.

Thank you for letting us know this is an outrage. We'll all have feelings about it. You had just enough characters left in that post to add, "The People must capture DC and drag out the traitors." But maybe something between that and outrage is most appropriate. Is this when they'll obey courts?

This is the new reality. No turning back. Looking to claw back? There will be courts, states, Supreme Court saying it’s illegal. Expect others to put their hand in the candy jar from now on. Also expect more insider trading.

Trump's $1.8 billion theft, made simple: Lawsuits are supposed to be real. His lawsuit against the IRS was fake. "It is illegal, because Congress has said you can use this money only to settle real cases," @harrylitman.bsky.social tells me. Much more on the pod: newrepublic.com/article/2106...

And no one holds him accountable. The republicans are willing to pay for the ridiculous ballroom with our taxes. Now the thugs who attacked our capitol are going to get our taxes dollars. Insider trading makes these crooks rich while the rest of us struggle to make ends meet. Enough

“Corruption is paid by the poor.” — Pope Francis So true. I do believe the day will come when all of the cowards who allowed this to happen will be held accountable. The funny part is that there are some J6 rioters who actually believe that they’re going to get some of this money. 😂

So the President sued his own government, settled with himself, gets $1.7 billion in taxpayer money, a public apology from the IRS, and a permanent audit exemption for his entire family. And his former personal defense attorney signed off on it. This is not a republic anymore.
