Years ago at the Dallas Farmer's Market before I went vegan, I met a local chicken farmer, who told me how corporate chickens are cleaned (so gross). I started buying chicken from his farm instead (frozen to meet safety guidelines). Best chicken ever!

There was a documentary (or maybe it was a 60min type investigation) done about exactly that: Big Corps trying to shut down local poultry farms because of "food safety". The court sent in experts to check for various contamination and the big processors were worse BY FAR!
