This is a great video. I'm guessing it's advisable to put an app into maintenance mode before replaying a prod database? Is it truncate -> replay? Or just update in place?

Typically you would dump the events table in prod, replay elsewhere, and then go into maintenance mode and import, finally replaying just the events that happened since your dump. That lets you minimize downtime.

Although depending on the change you’re making and how you’ve designed your events, sometimes you can replay in-place without any downtime. Rare, but possible.
