Bill Ackman freaking out about tariffs and saying "this isn't what we voted for" is as clear a crystallization of conservative self-delusion as you could ever ask for. Yes it is you idiot, you voted specifically for this! He talked about this NON STOP

Well now hold on. Trump consistently said tariffs. But he never said such large, broad, permanent tariffs. On purpose. And dipshits in the MSM (all of them) and Ackman et al, never insistent on details. They wanted to believe what they wanted to believe. Now they want to have it both ways.

We are going to need these assholes to get rid of Trump. So I think the strategy isn't to back them into a corner. It's to ask them, "OK? So impeach and remove him from office?" And I expect the answer is no, but we should not assume. Make them admit it. Explicitly.

Sure, he never SAID crude, destructive, dumb tariffs but when has Trump done anything that wasn't at least two of those things? Ackman's wanting to pretend that all he had to go on was Trump's word, but I don't trust anyone who claims to take Trump's word for anything

Strictly greed, not trust. The give away is Ackman says economic prosperity is what's paramount, not the law. I'd like to question his patriotism, but getting Trump impeached and removed from office is more important because he's a dangerous psychopath.

Sure, sure. I'm saying, if Ackman claims that all he had to go on was Trump's word and Trump said he was going to usher in a new epoch of prosperity so how could Ackman have known that Trump was going to destroy the economy, I'm thinking dude you are too gullible for your opinions to carry weight.

The trap of stupidity as the explanation is it's the same argument the technofascists are making: democracy is dead, people are too stupid, they need monarchy again. Vance, Thiel, Yarvin, the SV VC crowd.
