I think a great story would be the decline in tourist travel to the US. Here in Canada, our major airlines have cancelled 20% or so of scheduled flights; planned travel is being cancelled in favor of Mexico and Central America; snowbirds are selling their properties; and more. It's spreading fast.

Please help make this go viral! We have to step up our game because our representatives are clearly not going to save us from this fast moving coup! The only thing we really can do that's nonviolent is slow production. Cost them money. Don't get fired. Don't hurt anyone. But do more where youcan

Or just cancel your subscription. It's an absolute feeling of RELIEF and immediate satisfaction and elation when you do. I get some people can't bc of limitations....so very consciously buy ONLY absolute necessities from there. If we all make the changes we can, it will work!!!

Good timing for me. My prime membership ends this week and I set it to not renew. Shopping there has been convenient with a family but we'll find somewhere else to shop. It's annoying but let's us put our money where our mouth is.

Same. Shopping has gotten slightly complicated- there's a bit of research involved before going. I have canceled all accounts with anything having to for with Meta or Amazon. But, buying local has actually been kind of fun. My local grocery has an aisle just for Polish food. Fun to try new stuff.

My garden will start next month. They called them Victory Gardens during WWII. I'm calling mine the Screw You Garden. I'm mad at produce prices and I'm gonna work hard to get a good crop. I'm learning how to "put by" my summer harvest for winter consumption: canning, freezing, dry storage, etc.

Just stop using Amazon. Watch goods return to local store shelves. Maybe Amazon will have to shrink and our kids in Seattle can afford to live here.

Jfc Americans are SO out of practice with boycotting, the boycotts END when the company finally BENDS to your terms. Weeks and months mean northing to them because all potential short-term profit losses and be easily recouped in the stock market. The danger is in the long term via sustained boycotts

Not just for one day either, let’s continue pressuring them until it fucking hurts their shareholders and buddy CEOs. I will stop buying and supporting Amazon til the day I die.

I remember looking at my TV recently and hearing the latest feeble equivocations from Jeff Bezos, attempting to excuse his betrayal and moral depravity away. No Jeff. We know who you are now. Just like Elon. You keep your money and we’ll keep our souls.

Hey @cnn.com! More of us than you’d think have committed to making it permanent. 4 me: $45 of media subscription services through Amazon now cancelled along with over $200 of monthly product subscriptions and moved to thrive market. Also boycotting Tesla, Starlink, Walmart, Target, & McD forever!

Same!! Canceled it all!!! People need to realize wants versus needs. Is it more convenient? absolutely. We all did without it for however many years. For people who cannot access stores regularly there are different options, or minimize the use. Don't buy anything unless necessary until they stop.

Just order directly from company websites. No one needs the Amazon middleman and I have found customer service is much better and prices are competitive if not cheaper.

my fave (/s) part of that article is where they said the effort “didn’t appear to have an impact”… but in the next sentence they clarified that there was little impact because sales are already in the toilet.

The week long boycott against Amazon should be much longer. If you read how Jeff Bezos treats employees and how how he treats anyone selling products on Amazon you would do like I do and never shop on Amazon again. I don't support oligarchs like Bezos, Zuckerberg or Musk.

Shop, but make sure you are supporting companies that have empathetic core values. Treatment of its workhorse, dei, health care... There's a number of those Companies that have not sold out. Support them. #wegmans ❤️

A need for something, must go to Amazon. No major chain to shop in my area. Also traveling to a box store, they never have anything in stock.

If you want to shop temu, I recommend to turn an old phone into your temuphone. No other app installed, separate account. Turn it off whenever you are not shopping. Keep it in one place. temu is cheap because they not only skip virtually the entire retail supply chain, they also live off your data.

This is an interesting development! A weeklong boycott could really shake things up. It’s impressive to see grassroots movements gaining traction. Let’s hope this creates a larger conversation about supporting local businesses and alternatives to major chains.

Most of us have dumped them forever, this is to bring attention. Amazon workers are posting empty trucks and no work to social media. Unless it’s a deep fake. I assume most is these days

The MAGA State Of Trump's Union 🧵thread bsky.app/profile/edhi...

The MAGA State Of Trump's Union With all the federal employees being fired, forced into unemployment, how will they be able to pay their monthly home loan and/or rent? One thing is for sure, it will definitely crash the housing and rental markets!

I know it's tough, but we must find ways to embrace the inconvenience of our activism now. These short-term boycotts are purely symbolic. We need to make the jump and transform these boycotts into permanent changes to our spending habits. Don't go back. Make MAGA support a financial death sentence.
