Wow - you guys got off the “Biden is old” beat for a second to see the current president is actively fucking is over.

The truth is Americans cannot afford to buy American. Therein lies the myth of tariffs. The world has moved on the US cannot turn the clock back to the 1960s or 70s no matter what Trump says or believes. Economic isolationism will only herald a world pain for America.

It's impossible for retailers to 'eat costs'. It's a competitive market, and they have to invest up-front. Trump is a felon who bankrupted six businesses. He has no idea what he's doing, and should be facing prison.

They should all defy President Dumbass and list a "Trump Tariff" charge.

Business can only do so much and honestly why should they eat the cost of tariffs? Small business owner in Canada, most of our components ship through the US but suppliers have advised that they will show the tax on product so we can pass it on to the end user.

As much as I hate paying more, I hope they all do raise their prices. Maybe THAT will get thru those tiny pea brains under those fucking red hats?

They will ALL raise prices, some just won't tell you that they're doing it!

Since people's pay hasn't gone up, I'd expect a lot more to just take what they need.

As a former retailer I can tell you exactly what will happen. First you absorb the hit. Then you seek accommodations from suppliers and or seek out new ones. Then you raise your prices incrementally to bring your profit margins back to a rational level. Businesses work for their owners or fail.

The return on sales (profit divided by selling price) for most retail products is too low to absorb any of Trump’s ridiculously high tariffs. He can bully retailers to keep them from talking about tariffs, but prices will go up. Only 2 dolls and 5 pencils for you.
