$16.6 billion is NOTHING to META. Seems like a lot but it is not to them. They got away with a horrendous crimes. Imagine you made $75k a year and you did some horrendous stuff that messed up a bunch of shildren. And you got fined $163.

While the percentages match it's not the same. If you made $200billion and got fined $16.6billion would you miss it the same as somene making $75k who got fined $5k? But I see what your saying. I was just making up numbers. My point being it's a non-punishment.

I think that if your company is above a certain size you shouldn’t be allowed to settle. That would solve a lot of “slap on the wrist” moments such as this.

Came here to say the same. It’s a slap on the wrist. It should be hundreds of billions with a huge fine if he doesn’t prove he’s made the changes. 😤🖕😽

Yikes. Imagine admitting to causing kids to kill themselves and not being decimated into oblivion. They'll probably make money from this somehow. Fuck capital.

META ADMITS NOTHING AND PAYS-OFF STATES TO STOP. States to use settlement funds like they did with the tobacco settlement whereby very little helped children and most was funneled into other unrelated projects.

It’s a great achievement, but only a drop in the bucket of saving democracy for our future. And where future generations still have the blessings we have enjoyed as well as a livable world to enjoy them in.
