Per Reddit, this Passive House - super energy efficient with an airtight building envelope that doesn’t breath in burning embers from the air, survived a fire that consumed all of its neighbors. Visited a passive built apartment building just south of Boston, felt like walking into a bank vault.

All right humans, it’s round two. It’s time we evolve. How do we rebuild a neighborhood into a climate strong set of living spaces that benefit ourselves in our new reality? The earth has cleansed this land of our prior decisions. We’ve been given new opportunities to express our future.

seems almost impossible to believe. houses either side in ashes, but it seems unscathed. wouldn’t the outside at least look like it had been affected? the heat involved in these fires is insane - melted peoples safes. is this really legit?

truly amazing. how is it that the outside looks unscathed? even what appear to be wooden slats in the fence seem untouched. i’ve seen what the black Saturday fires did in australia and just doesn’t seem possible given the heat involved. nothing survived- not even bunkers. will investigate, thanks.
