After using macOS Golden Gate on my secondary Mac for a while, I can say it is good! Liquid Glass looks beautiful, especially with the refinements, and the launcher is 1,000 times better than in Tahoe (though it still needs a teeny bit of work). Also, Ribbit cameo.

Oh! The part I forgot to mention… I still experience the wallpaper dimming glitch where the animation drops frames (which looks really bad on a 120 Hz display). I reported this to Apple, but sometimes when closing a zoomed-in window, the wallpaper dimming animation bugs out.

I had some issues that stemmed from network infrastructure, not software: my router’s long-stable firewall config needed a change for Siri/AI & iCloud. PF-based routers like #pfSense & #OPNsense default to reply-to on WAN rules for proper routing in multi-WAN setups. Had to switch it off for OS 27.

In general, I agree 100% though; it’s an overall improvement. It just took me some time to be able to appreciate those improvements due to having to spend so much time troubleshooting why Apple specifically was not responding to network packets when Android, Msft, and Linux had no issues!
