I worry that people are still underestimating what is happening here. They think the U.S. is abandoning Europe, where in fact it is realigning against Europe, as an adversary.

One way of viewing Trump and Vance's rhetoric on US foreign policy is as a wider effort to generate pretexts for blaming Europeans for a US withdrawal from Europe that the Trump/Musk administration wants to pursue anyway

I kinda figured he would get us into the Ukraine war, on Russia's side. Nobody else seemed to be thinking that so I thought I was missing something basic.
