Media needs to stop sanewashing ICE. A man was not "mistakenly detained" He WAS detained. I know that's a small detail, but when it's the opening line in the article, it frames the whole thing a a giant "whoopsy", rather than the infringement of rights it actually is. Words have meaning.

The implication with inserting "mistakenly" like that is that there are some people in this country that deserve to be detained by ICE and undergo all the horrible treatment we know ICE detainees suffer. Nobody deserves that.
