3D Printing has changed the way I solve problems. Ordering a part that doesn't fit exactly the way I want would have resulted in either returning something, or jerry-rigging a solution that looks terrible. Now, 5 minutes of modeling and I can move on with my day. youtu.be/HXMSCum9URU

My heart is heavy. Walter Koenig, our Ensign Pavel Chekov, passed away early today. Walter and I met on the bridge of the Enterprise in the 1960s, and we stayed friends for nearly six decades. When Brad and I married in 2008, Walter stood beside us as our best man.

Rest in Peace, Walter Koenig. “Second star to the right … and straight on ‘til morning.”

New Office Update! A couple delays due to illness and some head trauma, but we're almost ready to start filming again. Come check out the new space! youtu.be/-t5XN3vyEeE

Stormy has decided the new office belongs to her, and I'm allowed to use it on occasion.

~~ NEW VIDEO ALERT ~~ Soldering together the OtterX 8-Bit computer from scratch, and using the brand new RetroTINK 6X CE while testing the board? Yeah, sure, that sounds like an awesome plan! www.youtube.com/watch?v=0IoS...

I got arsed

WE'VE GOT LIGHTS! They're not wired, because I can't be arsed to climb into the attic today, but WE'VE GOT LIGHTS!

I am so tired, BUT I think I'm about ready to move my desk into the new space. Super excited to start setting it all back up.

Lots more to do, but hopefully in the next day or two I'll start moving in furniture, and get back to that YouTube thing I call a job.

Ya know, sometimes I impress even myself.

Carpet

Paneling is DONE!

Its starting to look like something!

Vote accordingly.

I feel so @demodisc.zone

ROCKWOOL! (jeff for scale)

More than 500 U.S. citizens have been detained by ICE, according to ProPublica. 70% of ICE detainees have no criminal conviction. Trump’s promise to go after the “worst of the worst” was always a lie. It was always a pretext to terrorize Black and brown communities. Remember this.

Things are coming together. Walls are up, electrical is done, insulation installed. Ready for sheeting.

I've been having fun this week

That's ok, I didn't want to win my fantasy week anyway 😭😭😭

A much needed Saturday pint after an exhausting week.

Anyone want the FedEx "AI Chatbot" instructions...? UUhhhhhh, asking for a friend? ;)

My community and I are increasingly frustrated with Discord, and are working on a self-hosted alternative on Fluxer. We've set up a test server with ~25 people so far, and things are going great. The irony? 100% of our users are on Linux/MacOS. We don't have any Windows testers yet.

@craftcomputing.bsky.social made a cool video on the original Steam machine from about 10 years ago. Check it out: #Linux #LinuxGaming #Steam #SteamMachine www.youtube.com/watch?v=QpXx...

Gearing up for a great show. @circuitrewind.com joins Talking Heads tonight at 6PM Pacific to talk AI, Rogue Agent Hacks, the end of the world, and other lies about the Torment Nexus from every CEO's favorite book "Don't Create The Torment Nexus" youtube.com/live/bl76ELN...

In December 2024, I built a set of Mini PCs for a client. Each PC had 32GB DDR5-5600, which cost $70.99 for each PC. That same kit of memory is $459.99 today.

Harry Truman once said, “Socialism is their name for almost anything that helps all the people.” He was right then, and Republicans are proving him right today. Watch.

No, I think this met the standards ICE was aiming for.

Can't wait for the $6 from the class action lawsuit in another 8 years. Can we just be done with this connector already?!?!? wccftech.com/asrock-ntc-s...

If you're a company advertising on social media, and it's even a consideration that you'll need to disable comments, maybe reconsider... literally everything about your campaign.

Look, I know understanding how TV scheduling is done is not my expertise... but Oregon-OSU has now been kicked from ESPN -> ESPN2 -> ESPNU -> ESPNews -> Disney+ And now Disney+ killed the stream because a 9AM game isn't supposed to go until 1:45PM. As if continuing to stream matters.

@craftcomputing.bsky.social Thanks for showing me Winlator. youtu.be/5CPvLQzWfpo
