Sure, winning Cuban voters with your socialist pitch and Repub voters by campaigning across Florida with Bernie Fucking Sanders is a great strategy! A private phone call about tactics doesn't mean lack of support. There would be a case for D party lack of support if prominent elected Ds start attacking her in public. Winning a primary means absolutely in terms of winning the state. Nothing at all.

I think we should ban use of the word "socialism" during campaigns because it means something different to every person and is a red flag to many. It doesn't communicate, just causes confusion. So just discuss policy ideas and R corruption and forget about whateverthefuck "socialism" means.

You can be a fighter with progressive ideas without the socialist label. That only drags the party down even more. Just like how the "woke" label damaged us with the general population.

My read on it is that Dems are scared that DSA is going to take them over like MAGA did GOP. I don't see that at all, though. They are keeping the Overton Window from shifting further and further to the right. They are where much of the energy is. Fresh ideas are good and needed, especially now.

Well, Nikki is the ONLY Democrat to win statewide office in Florida since 2012 (and personally unselfishly helped my campaign in 2018). Republicans outnumber Dems there, you have to reach the independents and marginal Republicans to win. Will be tough to do, hope they figure it out.

What everyone forgets is that in projections, she actually beats the Republican. Her competitors in the primary did not. She is actually not just more progressive, she is more electable. But politicians who serve the billionaires – which we find in both parties – find progressives threatening.

Angie Nixon shouldn’t take any shit from these people.

Unfortunately, Florida will not elect a Dem Senator in November. Nixon is good. She could win in a purple state but Florida is red.

If anyone can screw this up, it’s the Florida Democratic Party leadership. We were so thrilled to see her win, support her 100%, but that enthusiasm was tempered with knowing what dumbas*es we’re dealing with in the party.

I think it's healthy for people to have knock down drag out fights in private, especially between a party chair and a candidate about strategy and tactics.
